Call for Nutritionists, USAID/ Food Security Service Center

Job Description
Background:
Social Impact (SI) is a Washington, DC-area international development management consulting firm. We provide a full range of innovative program evaluation, management consulting, technical assistance, and training services to strengthen international development programs, organizations and policies.  Our global services are in the areas of democracy and governance, health and education, agriculture, the environment, and economic growth.
Objective:
Feed the Future (FTF), the U.S. government’s global hunger and food security initiative, focuses on sustainability reducing hunger and poverty worldwide. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau for Food Security (BFS) leads the initiative. Through the provision of a broad, integrated, and knowledge-driven suite of expert technical services, the BFS Service Center (Service Center/FSSC) Contract will complement existing BFS support to provide USAID Missions, USAID/Washington, other USG operating units, and host country counterparts targeted support to move the President’s agenda forward. The contract will enable BFS to provide short- and longer-term expertise for state-of-the-art food security support services and analyses; capacity building; and expert analysis and integration of cross-cutting issues that are critical to the success of FTF and also provide a mechanism for bridge programming and pilot innovations.
As prime contractor for the FSSC, SI seeks Senior-level Nutrition Specialists.
Responsibilities:
  • Designing Nutrition Projects for Africa, Asia, and/or Latin America
  • Developing Country or Regional Nutrition Strategies in Africa, Asia and/or Latin America
  • Scaling Up Nutrition
  • Integrating Agriculture and Nutrition in Program and Project Designs
Minimum Qualifications:
  • PhD preferred, MPH, or MS in Human Nutrition
  • Minimum 10 years experience reviewing Nutrition
  • Certified Dietitian preferred
  • Previous Experience working with USAID as either a direct hire or contractor is required.
