Ghana Positions- short or long term PSM experts

Short or long term experts, for procurement and supply management of health commodities in Ghana.

To further assist the Global Fund with its in-country operations, GFA Medica is putting together an offer for new Local Fund Agent (LFA) services in Ghana that will start in January 2015. Aim of the services is to assess the capacity of grant recipients to implement programs, verify performance results and financial data reported by such grant recipients and provide independent advice on issues related to grant implementation. (An LFA is a crucial component of The Global Fund's oversight and risk management system. However, the LFA does not represent the Global Fund at country level)

For our team we are looking for independent (senior or junior) PSM experts based in Ghana who are qualified to assess systems to procure and manage health products  (medicines, diagnostics, lab materials, medical equipment, and preventive materials such as long-lasting insecticide treated nets and condoms). Assessments relate to the full cycle of product selection, quantification of needs, procurement, quality assurance, storage, distribution, inventory management, and their appropriate use. Experts will assess and monitor PSM systems, with the aim of ensuring best practice and risk minimization for the Global Fund.

Applicants must bring:

MSc. equivalent degree in pharmacy, medicine, public health  or in a related area, with several years of experience in procurement and supply chain management of health products.  Training in pharmaceutical procurement, international tendering, pharmaceutical supply chain management and/or project management are desirable. Experience in the management and implementation of HIV/AIDS, Malaria and/or Tuberculosis control programmes in developing countries an advantage.
