Short Course on Project Proposal Writing Skills (TWO
WEEKS)
1.0 Workshop Objectives and Outcomes
1.1 Objectives
The broad objective of this short course is to equip
planners, administrators,
managers, directors, social workers, officers and new
employees with practical
skills on how to design viable/winning project proposals
for funding in the
context of business and non business related issues.
Specifically this short course intends to
i. Equip participants with skills on how to conduct
baseline survey/ needs
analysis through participatory and non participatory
approaches
ii. Train participants on how to design winning project
proposals
iii. Equip participants with skills on how to carry out
pilot study/ pre testing
/appraisal exercise of projects
iv. Equip participants with skills on how to design
project Logframes
v. Train participants to understand and apply the
ingredients of project
implementation
vi. Equip participants with skills on how to design
M&E Frameworks as part
of project design
1.2 Outcomes
At the end of this short course, participants will have
knowledge on the
following aspects:‐
i. Participants equipped with skills on how to conduct
baseline survey/
needs analysis through participatory approaches
ii. Participants familiarized with how to design project
proposals
iii. Participants equipped with skills on how to carry out
pilot study/
appraisal exercise
iv. Participants equipped with skills on how to design
Logframe
v. Participants equipped with skills on how to implement
projects
vi. Participants equipped with skills on how to design an
M&E Framework

2.0 Training Methodology
The short course outcomes will be achieved through the use
of mix of methods
such as lectures, group work, practicals and case studies.
There will be field
visits to some of our projects.
3.0 Target Participants
This short course is intended for planners, economists,
sociologists,
administrators, managers, directors, social workers,
evaluators, project officers
and new employees who deal with writing project proposals
for funding and
those who manage projects. Staff who are working with NGOs, CSO, FBOs and
CBOs and donor funded projects are encouraged to
apply.
4.0 Fees and other costs
The fee for the short course is TZS 1,000,000/‐ (One
Million only) per
participant to cater for lunch, tea, stationeries and fee.

bear other costs that are not mentioned here. The fee

This short course is planned to be held for two weeks from 11th
‐29th August 2014 at
Amref Health Africa‐Tanzania, Dar es Salaam, Conference

6.0 Certificates
