Job purpose
The Public Relations Manager provides a range of core functions within the communications team. She/he is a behaviour change specialist with direct responsibility for ensuring that demand generation components of service delivery events succeed in attracting high numbers of clients for reproductive health services. She/he is also responsible for event management, of MST’s engagement with journalist for print media, radio and TV for behaviour change outcomes.
Key Responsibilities includesEnsuring all MST events have a wide coverage in public media both electronic, print and social media;
Cultivating engaging relationship with journalist for more robust and frequent coverage in all forms of media for Marie Stopes Tanzania focusing on the importance of reproductive health care;
Enabling MST to increase uptake of services by managing successful demand generation and awareness raising campaigns and strategies,
Developing and implementing a brand management strategy through the media, advertising and use of Marie Stopes Tanzania logo
Cultivating engaging relationship with journalist for more robust and frequent coverage in all forms of media for Marie Stopes Tanzania focusing on the importance of reproductive health care;

Minimum requirementsFluency in both English and Kiswahili, both oral and written, is essential
Minimum of a University Degree; Master Degree is preferable
Proven track record on effective behaviour change communication
Proven track record on managing and delivering both large, stand-alone events and also managing frequent event planning over time
Clinical/medical qualification an advantage but not a requirement
At least three years of previous experience in a professional communications capacity
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of how to communicate and engage with the public on health issues
Knowledge and understanding of the different perspectives and attitudes found in Tanzania regarding reproductive health care
Previous experience in working for a clinical organisation an advantage
Previous experience or knowledge of working for SRHR an advantage
Minimum of a University Degree; Master Degree is preferable
