KPMG is a leading provider of professional services. KPMG International Development Assistance
Services (IDAS) manages and implements donor funded programmes across Africa, employing full
time and part time experienced development experts and leveraging on a network of champions
across the continent.
KPMG is looking for a range of international development professionals for potential short and
long term assignments on various programmes across Africa, ranging from programme
implementers and young professionals to experienced team leaders. Engagement will likely
be on a contract basis. Specific skill sets we are looking for include:
Experienced team leaders
Experience in the Making Markets Work for the Poor (M4P) approach
Agriculture and rural development expertise – including technical agricultural expertise,
agricultural economists, knowledge of agricultural value chains, and related skills
Financial expertise – including fund & grant management, audit & due diligence, micro- &
rural finance, services for SMEs and financial sector development programmes in developing
economies, and mobilising public and private sector finance to help achieve project goals
Capacity building with governments and civil society organisations (CSOs), demonstrating
effective transfer of skills
Experience designing and implementing governance and accountability programmes
Trade and economic integration in developing economies
Monitoring & evaluation – both generalists and specific to areas such as gender, public
health and climate change
Gender specialists
Public health specialists
Climate change expertise – particularly design and implementation of programmes to build
climate resilience, green economy strategies, low carbon development, and related skills
Conflict prevention & resolution – as well as experience in above areas, within fragile and
conflict affected environments
International experience – including Africa specifically, and the developing world more
widely
